Scottish Education Awards 2022

We are delighted to announce that our Geography teacher Dr MacKinnon has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Teacher of the Year category for the Scottish Education Awards 2022. The ceremony will take place in Glasgow on 8th June.

S3-S5 FLUENT GAELIC SPEAKERS
A great opportunity to complete the Gaelic Sports Leader SCQF Level 4 Award during the first week of the Easter holidays:

Date: 30th March – 2nd April. Venue: Plockton High School/Hostel
Cost: Free for the course and all accommodation and food.
The Level 4 Award in Sports Leadership through the medium of Gaelic is a nationally recognised qualification that enables successful learners to lead small groups in simple sport activities, whilst under the direct supervision of their Tutor/Assessor or other suitably qualified adult. The qualification teaches generic leadership skills such as organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport. It is a fun and practical qualification with no entrance requirements or final exams to sit, but candidates will be expected to lead a small activity session in Gaelic.
Pupils will receive full board – Breakfast Lunch, Dinner and Accommodation.

Castlebay School is trialling using the the ‘School App for Parents’ as quicker, more efficient way of keeping in touch. It also has a calendar for upcoming events.

Dileab 2020

DILEAB: is a legacy project undertaken by the young people of the Outer Hebrides in partnership with the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and local musicians; designed to draw on their language, history and culture as a bridge between generations focussing on the future.
Dìleab 2020: Air a’ Chuan, brings together school pupils and musicians from across the Western Isles to celebrate our rich connection with the waters which surround us through music and song, as part of the 2020 Year of Coasts and Waters.
